Dental Hygiene Exam
A comprehensive dental hygiene exam is the cornerstone of preventive care and establishes a baseline for tracking future changes. This assessment includes a review of your medical and dental history, vital signs, a periodontal evaluation, and a detailed examination of the teeth and oral tissues. It allows us to detect signs of active gum disease, assess your risk for decay, and identify other concerns, helping us create a personalized care plan tailored to your needs.
Teeth Cleaning (Guided Biofilm Therapy)
Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) provides a pain-free and highly effective dental cleaning by safely removing harmful biofilm (oral bacteria) from the teeth and gums. Using advanced technology, this gentle approach reduces discomfort, protects tooth structure, and supports long-term gum health while delivering a comfortable, stress-free experience.
Oral Cancer Screening & Salivary Testing
OralID (oral cancer screening tool) uses advanced fluorescence technology to detect abnormal tissue changes that may not be visible to the naked eye. This quick, non-invasive screening helps identify potential concerns at an early stage, supporting prompt referral and improved outcomes through early detection.
PerioMonitor™ is a rapid, non-invasive, in-office, saliva-based test. It measures the patient’s leukocyte esterase level that is associated with active periodontal disease. Rapid detection of active periodontal disease and measures oral inflammation (your biological response to bacteria). If we need to identify more specific bacteria, we also provide a lab based test through OraVital.
Oral Hygiene Instruction
Personalized oral hygiene instruction empowers you with the knowledge and tools needed to maintain a healthy mouth between visits. Guidance is tailored to your individual needs and may include brushing and flossing techniques, product recommendations, and strategies to manage specific oral health concerns.
Remineralizing and Sensitivity Relief
When appropriate, biocompatible dental-grade varnishes and desensitizers can be applied to strengthen tooth enamel and exposed root surfaces. These treatments help protect against breakdown by increasing resistance to acid attacks from bacteria and sugars. They are particularly beneficial for individuals at higher risk of tooth decay and offer added long-term protection when combined with addressing the underlying causes of oral health issues.
Silver Diamine Fluoride (Cavity Reversal)
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a minimally invasive treatment used to halt and prevent the progression of early cavities. It works by eliminating decay-causing bacteria (Streptococcus mutans) while strengthening the affected tooth structure, making it an effective option that can often avoid the need for traditional fillings.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants provide a protective barrier over the chewing surfaces of teeth, helping to prevent cavities in areas that are difficult to clean. Sealants are commonly used as a preventive measure for both children and adults and play an important role in long-term cavity prevention.
Diet Counseling Related to Oral Health
Diet counseling focuses on the relationship between nutrition and oral health. Guidance is provided on how dietary choices impact teeth, gums, and saliva, helping you make informed decisions that support cavity prevention, gum health, and overall wellness.
Temporary Filling (IST)
A temporary filling using the Interim Stabilization Technique (IST) is used to protect a tooth affected by decay or damage until further treatment is completed. This approach helps stabilize the tooth, relieve discomfort, and reduce bacterial activity while supporting oral health in a conservative manner.
Teeth Whitening
Our professional teeth whitening system safely enhances your smile by reducing discoloration from aging, food, beverages, and lifestyle habits. We use a sensitivity-free, certified organic whitening system applied in-office, using blue and red light to activate the whitening process and support tissue health during the procedure. Your whitening options are carefully assessed based on your oral health to ensure you’re an ideal candidate and achieve the results you’re looking for.
